Non Surgical Root Canal

What is a root canal?

A root canal is one of the most common dental procedures performed, well over 14 million every year. This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or bridges.

At the center of your tooth is pulp. Pulp is a collection of blood vessels that helps to build the surrounding tooth. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to temperature or pain in the tooth and gums.

How is a root canal performed?

If you experience any of these symptoms, your dentist will most likely recommend non-surgical treatment to eliminate the diseased pulp. This injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed. This therapy usually involves local anesthesia and may be completed in one or more visits depending on the treatment required. Success for this type of treatment occurs in about 90% of cases. If your tooth is not amenable to endodontic treatment or the chance of success is unfavorable, you will be informed at the time of consultation or when a complication becomes evident during or after treatment. We use local anesthesia to eliminate discomfort. In addition, we will provide nitrous oxide analgesia if indicated. You will be able to drive home after your treatment, and you probably will be comfortable returning to your normal routine.

What happens after root canal treatment?

When your root canal therapy has been completed, a record of your treatment will be sent to your restorative dentist. You should contact their office for a follow-up restoration within a few weeks of completion at our office. Your restorative dentist will decide on what type of restoration is necessary to protect your tooth. It is rare for endodontic patients to experience complications after routine endodontic treatment or microsurgery. If a problem does occur, however, we are available at all times to respond. To prevent further decay, continue to practice good dental hygiene.

How much will root canal treatment cost?

The cost associated with this procedure can vary depending on factors such as the severity of damage to the affected tooth and which tooth is affected. In general, endodontic treatment is much less expensive than tooth removal and replacement with an artificial tooth.

I have had 4 procedures done so far. The doctor continually asked if there was any discomfort--there was not.

The office is really nice and everything was new. I was put into the room and got to relax and watch a movie with a blanket and pillow while I was taking x rays and waiting for the doctor to come in. The doctor was really nice and informative and even showed me real pictures (not x rays) of my cavities. I decided to go ahead and have my cavities filled. They turned off the lights and I put some wireless headphones on to watch the movie during treatment. I think I found my new dentist! Awesome experiences!

Dr. Pham and staff has taken dentistry to the next level of customer experience and satisfaction. His office is very clean and beautiful. He uses top notch technology. His staff was very friendly, my dental assistant was excited to be a part of the team and ready to continue learning from Dr. Pham. The dental assistant explained everything she was going to do for example x-rays, fitting for whitening trays etc. Dr. Pham took the time to go over my x-rays, point out my problem areas and explain the action plan on my next visits. They were able to confirm my insurance and I didn't have any problems. I was able to schedule my next appointment without a problem. You can tell Dr. Pham is dedicated to serving the community and will proved and experience like no other. All in all my experience was great.

Came in last week for a check up with Dr. Pham. First off, the office is absolutely gorgeous. It was like walking into a spa. Everything was super clean and very state of the art. I registered online at home before my appointment so I barely waited in the lobby before they called me back to do the exam. Dr. Pham was very thorough with his exam and explained everything in detail. He even showed me my cavities and X-rays on the monitor while I was in the chair. And to top it off, while I was getting my cleaning, they gave me beats type headphones to watch a movie while he did my cleaning. Best of all, they gave me free whitening for life!! Who does that? Pretty cool experience for a dental visit. Staff and Doctor was super nice and very accommodating. I had pretty bad anxiety but definitely looking forward to my next visit here.
